Forests are important for this world - we must commit to protect them!

We all know that forests are extremely important to our Planet, but sadly deforestation is taking place on a global scale and this cannot be allowed to happen if we want this Planet to be inhabitable in future as well.

I set up this petition because we must commit to protecting the forests of this world. It is truly an important cause. Just the other week I read a report about the critical situation in Eastern Europe, in countries like Romania, where corruption, deregulation and utter indifference has lead to massive deforestations; and no one is ever held accountable for their actions (because the people in power are in cahoots with Western companies, who buy the wood cheaply and transform it into furniture, and then selling it back to unsuspecting customers in Romania). Cutting wood illegally in countries in the Balkans has become a national sport.

Furthermore, let us not forget what is happening the Amazon, where widespread fires are destroying this gift given from God. The president of Brazil himself doesn't appear to be concerned about this vital issue and only mobilised the army to take over after massive protests. The trees that have been transformed into ashes are centuries old and will be extremely difficult to be replaced.

The warning from climate change activists are real, they are not made up stories, as certain US President would like you to believe. Don't listen to such non-sense, because the struggle is as genuine as it can get.

There is still time to prevent an environmental crisis with catastrophic consequences to all inhabitants of this Planet. But a crucial aspect is reducing deforestation and keeping our forests intact.

We don't want flooding, extreme heat, droughts and famine in our lives, but unless we take action, this is what the future looks like!
