We seek a permanent ban on hippo ivory today – support this campaign!

People have been messing with the fate of animals for hundreds of years: my campaign focuses on ivory, a trade that has been damaging wildlife intensively, particularly in the last decade. Due to recent pushes from conservationists and activists from all around the world, many countries have agreed to ban the trade of elephant tusks. (Including the UK, as the Ivory Act is set to go into effect soon)
However, most people are unaware of the loopholes in the act, which basically allow the sale of hippo ivory.
According to people familiar with the matter, the demand for hippo ivory is huge; and if it means elephant ivory cannot be traded anymore, then it must be compensated with something else, because having loosing cannot be acceptable in this ruthless business.
While the elephant population is estimated at 400, 000, hippos are closer to extinction than ever: just 130, 000 of them are left standing.
Will you speak up for the hippos and ask the UK government to close all loopholes and ensure hippo ivory sales do not become a reality in the United Kingdom? Thank you!
