It is with great sadness that I must report that British trophy hunters are pushing some species to the brink of extinction; and seem to be quite thrilled about their actions. This is why taking action is extremely important and I invite every person with a conscience to support my campaign, demanding an immediate and indefinite ban on trophy hunting imports in the United Kingdom.
Statistics indicate that over 2, 500 animal trophies have been brought into the UK over the past decade - a staggering number; 15 per cent of these were from the most endangered species, listed in Appendix I.
The most popular imports consist of elephants, black bears, baboons, leopards, lions and zebras - the population of all these animals is rapidly declining.
This extremely important issue must be raised in Parliament. I am aware that lawmakers are busy debating the Brexit issue, but this matter is also crucial and must be taken into consideration as soon as possible. Please note: Early Day Motion 1829 is seeking a ban on important trophy parts in the United Kingdom. All of us must unite - please get in touch as quickly as possible with your local MP and urge him / her to support this crucial piece of legislation so these majestic creatures do not go extinct.
