Help the city of Philadelphia rise again – end poverty epidemic today!

We, the undersigned, are filing this petition to the local authorities in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, urging them to take action on the extremely important issue of ending the poverty epidemic that has taken the entire area by storm. We sincerely hope our demands will not be ignored!
The issue in a nutshell: Poverty has increased significantly in the Philadelphia area; thousands of families, including the elderly, as well as batches of new immigrants are now in danger of depression and are facing the increasing possibility of remaining homeless; putting food on the table is getting tougher each day for these forgotten souls. It is clear that the city government must take action as soon as possible to put an end to this unsettling issue.
To be more specific, in Northeast Philadelphia, poverty has skyrocketed by over 420 per cent in many neighbourhoods; compelling research shows that the most vulnerable are the elderly (13 per cent of them live in poverty); gentrification in other areas of the city is now forcing immingrants to search for affordable homes in the north-east area, contributing to this circle of poverty; latino population that show up at food banks has increased 12 percent, Asians by 8 percent – both are at record high numbers. Unless action is taken, numbers will continue to rise and this matter will only spiral out of control even further. We certainly do not want this to happen!
The part of Philadelphia that once was the most coveted neighbourhood to live is now almost in ruin, its residents have been forgotten completely.
We believe the authorities can do more for the residents of these area. Please support my wake up call to ensure Philadelphia becomes the great city it ones was. The people deserve new opportunities and a fresh start.
Thank you for your interest in this matter.
